Hi my name is Rhiannon and im looking to buy live mice in the st kilda area for my python. I Can travel a bit, but relying on public transport which makes it a bit difficult. Any help is appreciated!!

Hi Rhiannon, have you tried feeding your snake frozen/thawed mice? It takes away the risk of your snake being injured by the mouse plus you reduce the risk of passing worms and other parasites onto your snake.

yeah i have but he wont eat them. im not sure how long i should leave him without food. do you think i should just leave it until hes that hungry he'll eat them. ive left it awhile before but maybe it wasnt long enough?

You should get it on to thawed/frozen, or at least freshly killed asap - the risk of feeding live to your snake is far too great. 99.5% of pythons will take thawed stuff wih a bit of initial encouragement.

Have you been into the St Kilda Aquarium? They used to sell snakes in there and the owners June and Warren (hope I remembered that right - haven't been in there for ages lol) had a fair bit of knowledge and may be able to help you out. It's worth a try anyway if you're in the area and don't have a car! |  | |
