Hey everyone,
Im looking to buy my first snake. I've been recommended a stimsoni. I have the enclosure and all things important already set up, now its crunch time. So I will put it out there... Does anyone have any hatchling or yearling stimsoni's for sale?
Thanks
Andrew
PS. Im in Redland Bay QLD

Because you have been recommened the stimsons, your going to get one?
Th childrens & spotteds are very much similiar to the stimsons, if you are looking for something of the smaller size.

I agree with Ashleigh, any of the childrens family are amazing snakes! We have a hatchling maccie and she is just amazing (her colours are gorgeous)! They are all easy snakes to keep!
Good luck with it all.
You actually posted this thread twice and I've responded to the other one as well..

i know
i spelt stimson wrong!!
Thanks, as i said its my first snake, so I'm easily led to believing things. I was told that the macs and childreni were snappier than the stimson. But i suppose it comes down to the snake in question.
ps if anyone can tell me how to delete that second thread it would be appreciated!!
Thanks again

Yes some snakes may be snappier than others but it's all about how you treat them too. When I first got Sassi everytime you put your hand in to get her out she'd bite but now (only 7 weeks later) you wouldn't believe she's the same snake!! She is so amazingly placid and is so affectionate and very calm now. She hasn't bitten for over 5 weeks now!
There are many threads telling you how long and how often you should handle you snake but we have ours out on a daily basis and can be out for over an hour at a time with constant handling and our babies have no issues with it! It's acutally made Sassi a better little girl for it, so don't always take every piece of advice as gospel just use your own instincts on how your snake is cause they are all different.
I've attached some photo's of our gorgeous little maccie for you to have a look at.
Hope this has helped. By the way if you want some help with reptiles there's a great guy at Just Reptiles (Ipswich) named John and he sold us Sassi! He is great with snakes and he has some Children hatchlings.
Regards,
Mell

yeah handling is a big thing aswell as the snakes temprament, e.g my mate had a scrub and some people had been snapped at but we have got a theory, they were being very gentle with the snake e.g tickling it and people got scared of him i went there and was gentle with him but let the snake know that i was there where i think the others were very light with him and he got tickled i believe and doesnt like it
