Congratulations mate - you deserve every bit of recognition for receiving "The Order of Australia Medal".
You were & still are the "backbone" of private reptile keepers in Victoria, particulary in the late 80's - early 90's when Government Agencies wanted private Herp collectors banned & tried to put in place so many restrictions. They lost solely to your determination & dedication to the herpetology world.
Your contribution now, to helping young upcoming Herp's is unremarkable & commendable.
FYI. I still have 1 x F. Collett's purchased 31/05/87 now 5'. & 1 x M. Collett's purchased 29/02/92 now 8.5'. also M. Olive purchased 14/05/90 now @ 11'. all in 100% condition & purchased from you.
