how often do you clean the carpet in enclosure of baby bearded dragon?

We have a piece of carpet we got from the petshop in our baby beardys enclosure. They said to wash it weekly and spray with diluted bleach or the reptile disinfectant. If I do this I figure I'd have to buy a second carpet to put in the enclosure while the other dries. We have only had him 2 weeks,we pick up his poops daily. The carpet looks fine at the moment, but I was worried about bacteria. I plan to wash the carpet tomorrow.

Anyone like to share their cleaning tips? How often, do you wash and/or disinfect weekly? It that necessary, or is a good shake enough?

Not sure if it will work with the carpet, but with fake grass I spot spray with the reptile disinfectant after picking up the poop, and take it out and jet spray it weekly, or as often as I can. And yes, you will need a spare piece.
