Pogona henrylawsoni AKA Pygmy Beardies are a bit of a passion for me. I have been trying to get them to retain their colour for a few years. Anyone familiar with them will know they fade to grey/blonde fairly quickly so I have been breeding the better coloured ones trying to retain some colour like central beardies.
So I have just had a clutch hatch which contains some Leatherbacks, I haven't yet had any Hypo-melanistic (reduced black) but have somehow skipped a genetic step. I have not as some might suggest crossed P.vitticeps with P.henrylawsoni, I don't see how that is possible anyway, the size difference would make it difficult if not impossible.Anyway here is a pic so you can compare 2 of my latest clutch.
