I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what this snake is? Is it dangerous? Should I be concerned about it and about others I have seen around the house? Any help would be great, but lots of information would be better. ;-)

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Kris

Yes, definate a Brown Tree Snake, Boiga irregularis.
Venemous, but harmless, nothing to worry about at all, in fact quite a good snakes as they will happily eat mice, indian mynah's etc.

I was also wondering its age... It is about 80 centimeters in length. I can't tell you much more about it, as it is long gone by now, but jeesh was it it aggressive!!!

Definitely a Boiga irregularis, mildly venomous, rear fanged snake. They are very quick and flighty, just leave him alone and you will be fine.

beautiful little snake...
if there's one i'd say there will be more not o far away

Good photography for someone thats knows nothing about snakes .
Cheers

Thanks guys for your ID. I was just reading up on them. Are they classed as a pest in Australia or is it just outside of Australia?

They're an Australian native - definitely not pests, not here in Australia anyway.

Nice that's good then. My wife and I were concerned that we might get into trouble if we were found out to have let it go back into the jungle.

yeh thats a very nice looking brown tree snake too! :D they were introduced into Guam and have since exterminated some bird species...they are aggressive if threatened and the larger ones may give uncomfortable symptoms if a bite occurs.
