Calling Bug people Id please

Was at Mt Eccles the other day when I came across one of the strangest bugs I have ever seen. It sort of hopes a little bit but doesn't look like it can fly, was thinking a strange cricket or grass hopper. Was actually trying to get pics of skinks but they were too quick lol

Amazing and beautiful, thanks for the link. In SA we tend to get the green leaf-like ones, never seen this one before. Very nice.

I thought this too, looked closer to a cricket than a katidid, or grasshopper.

was this in a national park? If not anychance you can collect some? There is a guy who recently joined who is after mountain katydids to undertake a captive breeding programe.

:cry:Sorry Hornet it is a national park didn't look that bright under the wings but yeah right shapeand similar colors.
