ACT licensing, do i really have to wait 2 years?

But it gets worse -

After your two years when you qualify, you have to advise them in writing which species you are going to acquire, where you'rre getting it from, how many etc.

So, even after keeping half a dozen species for ten years if you want something new that you haven't had before, you still have to go through the rigmarole for that new species........

after u write in an application for a license they actually come to your house and check out ur lizard or turtle too...

they ask u questions about where it originates from and what its scientific name is and signs if the animals sick or in stress...

Well this sucks. I really have no interest in a lizard or turtle, but looks like I have to get one for 2 bloody years before I can get what I really want!

I think the laws in ACT are way over the top. I appreciate what they are trying to achieve but I believe having such harsh laws would only encourage people to start taking animals from the wild or purchase them off licence.

if u have a family member, gf or mrs. with a license u can get a snake under there license number but they have to be there when ur buyin it

Imagine if you had to keep a mouse or rat for two years before you could own a cat or dog! People would yell and scream! :lol:

The ACT has such relaxed laws in so many areas, because if a politician, his wife or his kid gets caught smoking something, watching bad porn or getting up to all sorts of other mischief, it becomes legal before you can say "You're under arrest" :lol: I suppose no policians or thier families have been busted with illegal herps yet! :lol:
