I think they are some of the best photos I've ever seen. Nice work for a "random impulse".

Cool shots there, love the fijian iguanas and tortoise pics - awesome work mate 8)

Cheers guys :D Was a fun day despite being a Saturday and the place being littered with 1000 screaming toddlers :x

Brilliant photos! What equipment are you using (particularly the lense and any filters)

Cheers! Gear i used was a 40D with a canon 70-200mm L USM lens with just a polarizing filter. Wouldnt mind picking up an old film slr and having a go, would be a nice challange plus you gotta love the old grainy feel they have :p

Awesome!! I've got the 450D with the standard 2 lense kit and an additional 100mm macro... I just picked up my new kenko polarising filter a couple of days ago so I can't wait to try it out!!!

Sorry just one more question, the colours are absolutely brilliant! Are any of the pics digitally enhanced or is it just from the polarising filter?

Thanks LL :). Suemas, all pictures have been enhanced in post processing some way or another, don't listen to the rubbish about people whinging of people using post processing as virtually every photo taken on a digital format requires some kind of editing to get what you would see in person. That being said there are a few photos in the set beside the b+w's that ive desaturated. As for the Polarizer filter if anything it may make your colours appear less vibrant and drab depending how you use it, generally its used to cut reflections out of glass/water etc but of course it all depends on the sun and the angles it's hitting the object in relation to your lens, always good fun to use though. You should have a blast when you get yours :)

Ahh ok. I've been told to use the polarising filter only for landscape photos... Opinions?? Do you think I should just stick to the raw lens when taking pics of herps/insects/animals/people etc...?

Yep I've always used one for landscape photos, when you turn it you will notice the sky go darker which will help give you a nice deep blue sky in your photo, likewise if theres water in your landscape photo such as a lake it will cut out all the reflections which will give you that much more depth. Really keeping it on for taking those is up to you, it can make the sky alot more nicer in the shots but remember it will cut out quite a bit of the available light so you may have to shoot at a lower shutter speed which can start to become a problem if your shooting in an allready semi-dark area.

Went on a daytrip to Litchfield today and had a ball with the new filter. Thought I'd share a couple of quick qics with you :D (Sorry no herps :()

Great shots dude, the water looks really nice in that first shot, did you notice much difference in the relections with the polarizer on
