if hes in Sydney then its not a inland tai... got any closer shots of the head
 
Ur in the right area but it i don't think it is a fierce. It's some kind of brown, which one i can't be 100% but most likely a gwardar.
 
Thanks mate, I have been wondering for a little while I stopped him getting the shovel!
 
Western Brown Snake. Have seen alnost identical snakes from Bourke, Wanaring through to Tiboobura. Everyone confuses them with the Fierce Snake in north Western NSW.
 
Are you aware that they have split the western brown into multipl;e species?
and yes even the experts mixed the new taipan with a western brown
 
I will be my house on that its not Oxyuranus...its one of the Western Brown complex most likely aspidorhyncha or mengeni
