There's somethign sorta like this, not for herps..and not for 16 use at once...But, in Biology, to measure temps we used a metal thermometer thing which would be able to take 4 of such things and then log the data at set intervals whether every 5 secs or 2 days...It was like a little monitor with USB like inputs...4 of them.

But this obviously sounds more for the herper, so...Yeah, it does sound pretty good, but how about cost?

theres something similar to this that they use to monitor the temperatures inside a refridgerator that house vaccinations. it is connect to a computer, and via the computer can be monitored by the IP address of the machine from another in real time. not so sure how this would work with a home network with changing IP's and not everyone great with a pc, but in a corporate LAN it works great.

Edit:bad grammar

Sounds good esp logging temps which would allow you to see how your temps are rising and falling though the day, week or year hopefully.

Wireless would be good but wired would be ok if it could still be run and accessed through a network.

what sort of price do you think people would be willing to pay for a device that monitors 16 temps via a LCD screen on the device + you will also have the ability to plug the device into the pc and log all temps and view all temps in real time?

I've looked at something similar but at the end of the day it was going to cost way to much to make. I'm pretty sure you can buy this sort of thing off the shelf but you'll be looking at a triple figure price tag.

What are the sensors you've bee looking at?
Have you looked at touch screens and what they cost?
What sort of telemetry are you looking at?
What sort of controller are you thinking of using to interface to the touch screen?
