Growth and Infrastructure Updates

Aussie Pythons & Snakes has continued to grow consistently and due to this growth we have undergone a number of infrastructure changes. We moved to a higher performance server in the Equinix datacentre in Sydney, and placed much of our static content on the CacheFly content distribution network for speedy delivery irrespective of your location. We hope that all these changes help make your experience on Aussie Pythons & Snakes as pleasing as possible.

Upcoming Subscription Changes

Due to the continued growth of Aussie Pythons & Snakes, we have made some changes out our organisational structure. These changes have added a degree of overheads and as such, we will be increasing our subscription fees starting on July 1st, 2009. The new subscription fee will be $15.00. We hope that as a member, you continue to see value in subscribing to APS and we welcome any suggestions you may have on how we can increase the benefits subscribers receive.

Updated Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

In parallel to the aforementioned organisational changes, we are also introducing a new Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Both of these documents mirror the current attitudes and values of Aussie Pythons & Snakes as they currently stand and serve only to elaborate these in a formal manner. The privacy policy takes effect immediately and our terms of use can be reviewed at http://www.aussiepythons.com/terms-of-use, taking effect on July 1st, 2009.

Merchandise

Aussie Pythons & Snakes has had a number of member-driven initiatives to produce APS related merchandise over the years. We are hoping to make it even easier for members to show their APS pride by launching the official Aussie Pythons & Snakes merchandise store.

Simply point your browser to http://www.cafepress.com.au/aussiepythons to explore our current range of merchandise. If you have any suggestions for other merchandise we might be able to provide, please feel free to send us an email.

Twitter Account

APS has jumped on the Twitter bandwagon! You can follow our updates at http://twitter.com/aussiepythons. We will be using this account primarily to communicate site changes, outages or any other up to the minute information that may be useful to members.

Finally, we would like to thank you for your continued support of our community over the last few years. We hope that we continue to serve the herp community well and our site continues to grow with and help develop the hobby.

Thanks,
The APS Team

The wording of our terms of use should accurately reflect our current and long standing policies - if you think this is not the case, please send the paragraph that you take objection to to [email protected] and I will review and alter where necessary before the 1st of July. Just to be clear, we have no interest in re-selling your posts or photos to 3rd parties.

Is there any other way of paying for subscription cause not everyone has credit cards.

There will be a bank account available on July 1st, but PayPal is preferred.
