that is so sad and it frightens me to think of what the future holds when there are so many reports of animals mutating
 
MrsDargonLady - i'm not being cheeky. but it's called 'evolution'... :p no seriously though i know what you mean, although i'm betting that report was a hoax or the animal just turned out that way from decomposition judging by the bloating from being in the water.
 
Checked out the theory that the second creature could be a racoon and found this pic which justifies the racoon theory pretty well. It show the resembleance in the feet and how the "beak" is merely the skull showing where the flesh is missing. You can actually see the holes where teeth used to protrude.
