my bearded dragons sit under there heat lamp with there mouths open is this normal or is my tank to warm

its a dominance thing if there is more than 1 together.
they are too hot under the basking spot, but they dont want to give up their spot. so they 'gape' to cool down without having to move.

They will also do it by themselves to lazy to move so they will gape.

Common knowledge, i'm surprised you didn't know that considering your an expert.

My two have been together since hatchies. :) never fough or anything. they usally bask together. but when alone i see them doing this.

This is normal, they like the spot so much that they dont wont to move or give it up.
So they hold their mouths open to cool down abit as they dont want to give the spot up.
