Hey Guys,
My pair of Henrylawsoni are nearly 2 yrs old and are only 17cm. Plz can sumone tell me if this is undersized because I was in a pet shop in Queensland recently and there dragons were nearly 25cm at the same age! If they are small wat could be the cause and what can I do?

genetics, food, supplements and heating/lighting are some of the possible issues also some people heat theres more give them longer day lengths and feed them more to make them bigger faster

17cm sounds alright to me.
theyre only sposed to grow to about 25cm at adult size

In that case mine is very oversized, my boy is just 6 months (around) and is already 18.5 to 19 cm

alright then. I was getting really panicked about it cause I thought i'd stunted them sumhow and that they wouldnt be able to breed or anything. But if everythings all good... wat age to they start to lay?

They're undersized for 2 yr olds. At that age they should be adults sized i.e. females should be 90-120 grams and males around 70-80 grams. I dont breed mine until the females hit 100 grams. Any lighter and they take forever to recover from laying. If you feed a lot then lawsoni will hit adult size around the 10-12 month mark, but most people seem to take 18-24 months.

righto so they're undersized. What do I need to do to bring em back up to the right size or are they stunted?

I already do but not untill about 6 o'clock then they only get about an hour with the heat lamp before I turn it off. Should I be feeding them earlier so they get longer under heat and UV after they've eaten?

feed them to refusal on insects every day for a month. Also have veges available every day. Best if you put out fresh veges every morning. If they dont gain weight after a month then you need to get a fecal float done. Its quite possible they have some parasite (eg coccidia) which is limiting their growth.

well mine hav never eaten vegies no matter wat I try! and I've tried everything. I bought them when they were nearly a yr old and I dont beleive they were ever fed vegies with the original owner. Could this have an effect on there size and if so wat can be done?
thanks so much for your help so far. You've been brilliant.

Dont worry if they dont eat veges. Some of my main breeders dont eat their greens either, and never have. It does however allow you to get a bit more food into them whilst you're at work. Beardies do better with several smaller feeds instead of one giant feed per day.

righto well im on holidays at the moment and hav been giving them 2-3 smaller feeds a day with the last being untill they lose all interest and running off. Already they are looking larger around the middle.

carrot, asparagus, bok choy, those frozen peas and corn mix u get from woolies as well as strawberries, grapes and apple.

ditch the peas and corn, find more native varieties from your garden. dandilions are everywhere, and they cost nothing.

righto so do u think I can still get them to eat there vegies? even though they're nearly 2.
