They obviously didn't talk to snake experts that knew anything about snakes or the media were happier with the readers
thinking it could have been a brown snake as the footage clearly shows the snake as being
a green tree snake which is harmless but not as interesting a story and no where as scary as the media like to make snakes look to the general public.

Good old media, what'd we do without them?

Oh that's right, snakes wouldn't be killed needlessly because they wouldn't all be thought to be menacing. We'd be happy that reptiles can live longer lives in the wild.
