While out herping this morning I found this little girl with her head caught in some dumped plastic netting beside the road. Luckily I had my trusty knife with me and cut her free, although it was a delicate operation by myself! She seemed fine, and luckily hadn't overheated and died in the sun as it was still early, and had been overcast.

I hate ferals who throw their rubbish out of their car :x

Good job! What type of snake is it? A Red Belly Black?

Well done getting it out of the netting on your own with a pocket knife.
This is my pocket knife

Yes it is a red-belly for those who asked. It seems they have a knack for getting caught in mesh. I also found a big gravid spotted python in mesh in Cairns. A lady called me out to rescue it, and said it was in the shade. When I got their 30 minutes later the sun had moved and, very sadly, the python died from over heating.

great job on the red belly, hope u took thaty netting away and disposed of it properly too. :)

how sad that the spotted died, the lady could at least bave put something infront of it to make shade. :(
