Aaaah, well I just had rego and am dirt poor, and i noticed yesterday my Beardie has developed a lump on his bottom jaw in a matter of 1 day (unless im blind or he was only showing me his 'good' side)
He is alert happy and still eating, when i poked it it feels pretty hard.
I will get him in the vets ASAP, but im stuck in limbo at the moment till payday (Mon) Providing i dont die first from this wisdom tooth giving me greif (and ironically, my partner woke up whinging about his wisdom this morning) :x
I think we will stop eating before he does, so we are first priority. Im thinking i might have to pull some loans from the family, and i HATE that.

Since its come up so quickly im thinking it might be a swelling, any thoughts?

I will get a photo later, i will also give the vets a call, not that they talk to you at all over the phone, they just say, bring it in for us to look at at $40-50 consult fee...

Im so peeved! Why does everything crash at once??!!

Well my tooth has settled (for now) so i rang the vet and the reptile specialist is out of action and in surgery themselves convieniently, but the guy on the phone is thinking a cyst, heres the piks.
Xray (and consult) will be around $100 so i will book it in, as surely even if they arnt reptile experts they can do a xray.... He still is eating fine and had a nice big feed of xmas beetles today. Hehe

It does look a little like a swelling...better get the vet check though. Ask if you can muck out the cages out the back to cover some of the fees. :D

Haha ill get the expenses paid, just hard to calculate food, formula and other baby costs so i dont dig myself a hole and perish. Hhehe

No one has any idea or has seen this sort of thing before????

Try and get a look inside his mouth. See if it's an ulcer maybe. just an idea. great looking beardy

Hehe Thanks
Yeah ive checked out his mouth pretty thouraghly and all looks normal to me. I will re check again today.

(I cant remember the complicated words the vet used) but he got Xrays done and it turns out he has had some kind of nutrition problem during his life which has caused the lump, but the growth is on the skin not the bone so wont cause him any eating problems or discomfort thankfully.

The vet was brilliant and charged me minimal expense and was nice enough to burn me his Xrays onto a CD, so i thought id post a couple, facinating stuff...
