Which pet shops in Melbourne stock live snails for lizards? How much do they cost for how many?

Hey Lex10,

I dont think any would stock live snails but you could always feed your bluees snails from the garden.
When i had blues i know they used to love a boiled egg cut up in small pieces.

Cheers,

Dan

garden ones are fine , BUT make sure none of your neighbours baits snails BEFORE u give them to the blues.
i have a mate that gives me a ice cream container full of snails at a time .

Its an untapped industry, harvesting and/or breeding snails. You can use water snails, but they are probably too expensive, although i have never thought of buying them so i wouldnt know.

i have thought about breeding garden snails , i guess it couldnt be too hard .

My neighbours are snail bait mad, that's why I think it's a bad idea, plus I can't find any snails.

i think i was told once that if you collect garden snails, put them in something like a bin, one of those round ones wiht the lid on and leave them for a week, the baited ones will die and the others should b fine....i THINK thats what i was told. can anyone confirm this?

Best thing to do when collecting garden snails is to keep them for a week and feed them carrot, the french do this before they eat snails just to clense them and make sure they aren't baited.
