I have a one year old south western carpet python that has been hand raised since being a wee egg. The past couple of days i havent been able to get him out of his terrarium, twice i have tried on seperate days and he has striked at my hands. I always wash my hands before getting him out and i dont feed him in his enclosure. He has recently shed and been fed. It is cold here in the south west region of WA and maybe he is going into hibernation and i keep waking him up? he has never tried to bite me before, but as i know he is a snake and at sometime in his life bite me :) .. Is this a sign that he may be sick?.. Does anybody have any ideas?..
