hello APS i hope your all doing well,

I was just wondering if you guys have ever being harassed ina work environemnt whether at work or away, currently i am being harrased on Facebook by fellow co workers and Ex co workers as i am getting blamed for one of them getting fired even though I didnt make the complaint it was another co-worker the matter was
"stealing products or rather giving them away"

They have a big post thread thing going on which i have taken screen shots of with my post included, saying they reason why im not replying is because i dont want to get invovled with this matter as hopefully it will get resolved at the work meeting tomorrow, i am feelign rather down about this as they are making me out as the bad guy even though the person who did tell is in the right as they were infact stealign this products and have been warned before.

my questions are, if they continue (espically after the work meeting) i am going to want to take more action I dont want to submit it to the boss as this will create more havoc is there a authority i can send them to, to be reviewed.

also I dont want them to get in too serious of trouble as it could come back to bite me in the bum as they have already been telling other co workers to make the girl that they think (allegldy) told the boss of this, but they think i am included in this.

I have had a good reltation with ALL co workers until this has unfolded most of them are within 1-2 years of my age and these girls are over the age of 18.

Thankyou if you read all of this with spelling mistakes as i am abit stressed out at the moment because they have been doing this for the last 6 hours and i have tried to condense the situation so i dont make it a lord of the rings series.
 
Wow, immature much? These girls can get fired for doing that on facebook...

Talk to your union, if your in one and get some advice, or you can call HR, they will sort it quick.
 
The problem you face is that every action will have a reaction. If you dont want to endure the reaction from them , then you need to not do anything. If you want to continue working there with these people you do not want to alienate yourself by taking matters further. It all depends on how strong your ethics are and your willingness to put up with negative relationships at work..
 
I would be involving your HR Manager as you don't have to put up with being harrassed. Plus you have to allow your workplace to try and solve the problem before trying to take it to a higher authority.

Also, I've always found it better to keep your work life and your private life separate.

I never socialise with workmates outside of work hours and I don't have any of them on my Facebook and I think it makes things a lot easier in the end.
 
well the thing is i only really use facebook for work and myspace for friends, facebook is usually the way we contact each other for things such as helping cover shifts.
and yes this is very immature.
also jewly i do belive with work and private life, i dont hang out with any of them outside of my work except my sister, but she is also alot older then everyone else and we dpnt see each other as brother and sister we see each other as co workers she tells me to do something i do it, i only ever see her at work anyway as she lives at her boyfriends.

also i am gathering HR is human resources, the thign is i dont know whether to contact the busness im employed under or an Anti discrimination agency as this comes under "viticimisation"\



Edit: also most of the co workers are taking the girl that got fired side which is also a deliema as i doubt I could realistically win against all of them as they dont see it as immoral for giving away products and she gave away mutiple in 1 shift.
 
I'd bring it up at the work meeting in front of your boss and make them all look stupid for taking the side of a criminal.
 
just pull out a fake gun at the meeting and watch em all s h i t..................... Seriously though ask them at the meeting have they got something to say to your face instead of hiding behind their keyboards
 
OMG...im going through the same thing now....I was being back stabbed all the time by this one co worker...I went to the team manager and asked him to make it stop...but he did nothing...so I went above his head and was told to take it up with the team leader...this went on for months....I got so angry that nothing was being done to stop him saying nasty things about me that I called him a two face back stabber...well he went crying to HR and I got suppended for over 6 weeks...then when I had the final meeting, I was givin a final warning for calling him a name and moved to another team.
I could not believe the outcome...oh yeah the union was with me and they thought it was a great outcome.
All my so called work mates knew what he was saying and no one came to support me....even my team manager say he didnt know there was a problem.
Just goes to show you will be harassed as work and nothing will be done about it....well not at my work anyway.
 
Your HR manager would be the person to go to in the first instance with a copy of the full conversation and a list (preferably with dates/times) of any other instances where bullying occured.

Keep a list of EVERYTHING.. from the stuff off facebook, to any conversations you are included in on and those you aren't but you hear about.. everything.

If your HR manager does not get it sorted then it's time to go higher up. If your company is the kind where you could get your CEO to sit in on a meeting with you and your HR manager then try that but if all else fails then it's time to go to Anti discrimination agency.

Try sorting it out through your HR and CEO first as you don't want to 'burn your bridges'.

Also if it gets to the point where you are needing medical help (anti stress etc) be sure to keep a record of all of that.

Mainly though.. I would be deleting AND blocking them on facebook. Cyber bullying is so bad and I honestly can't believe these people think it's ok to write some of the stuff they do without there being consequences.

Keep a diary with what was said, times and dates and go to your boss or next inline manager. Before you go to your union you need to follow your workplace procedure.
 
lots of great posts ?

1) read the above one ( get a diary, write down threats, acts of harassment against you, who ,what , when ?
2) report it to your employer - if he or she fails to act and it still happensit then becomes a legal matter ?
3) write down in your diary the actions you have taken and discussions with your boss and outcomes this can later be used as evidence ?
4) if your employer fails to act he may well face proscution as he has a duty of care to provide a safe work place for ALL employees ?
5) depending on the size of the company or org- go to the manager above him - her - acts of intimerdation/ harassment are well covered in workplace safety ACTS.
6) contact the workplace relations office NSW registar your complaint but tell them not to act but to take notes this could help your case in future ?
7) if all else fails then legal action should proceed ?

ALL EMPLOYERS HAVE OBILGATIONS TO THEIR STAFF UNDER WORKPLACE LAWS ?

HOW DO I KNOW I HAVE 500 STAFF TO MANAGE AUSTRALIA WIDE I AM A GENERAL MANAGER AND THE BUCK STOPS WITH ME ??????

personaly i'd print off all the facebook B.S and take it to the meeting and present it to the manager ....

No i got a little more than that out of it. My question about the question marks is because it makes your statements ambiguous. Are you questioning the statements you are making or just using the >?< for fun? When i see a statement such as

with a questgion mark on the end i generally assume that it is questioning the validity of the statement.

This is why it is important to be competent in standard Australian English grammar and punctuation, something you should be if you are the boss of 500 people and the buck stops with you??? (read in that they are there for tongue-in-cheek effect). I'll rephrase for you without any humour so you can understand it. Are you questioning the value of the advice given in previous posts or do you lack the skills to appropriately use questions marks?
