Those who own and some who don't may have witnessed this tail habit in Woma's.

Is it luring?
Is it just a funny little quirk that Woma's have that doesn't serve a purpose?
Could it be more accurately described as caudal distraction as opposed to the luring we witness in Adders?
Do you have a different theory altogether?

I think it could also be from a sort of adrenaline rush, when they're really excited and keen for food. It could very well be used to lure their prey as well.

only my female does it...i think it is just from excitement from feeding...my female is a ravenous feeder.....hasnt refused a feed even if coming up for a shed

I don't think it's luring.

I have never witnessed them sitting there, 'luring' awaiting a feed. Mine are now adult and still do this like mad, as soon as they get the smell of food their heads start bobbing and tail starts flicking. The more excited they get, the more rapid it gets.

I also think it is just a sign of excitement.

Yeah my woma does the head bobbing and starts going crazy when I'm defrosting the rat in a bucket. I've had a feeding response bite from a woma and it wasn't pretty..
