Curious about this species and its husbandry.. can anyone shed some light, e.g. enclosure sizes, temperament?
The only thing I know about them as of know is that they have the longest fangs for pythons.

They are class 2 up here. Are you allowed to own them in Vic on a basic licence?

Not basic, advanced, although I'm assuming that's because they're only rare in captivity... or they're just pains to keep.

I hear that they are quite easy to keep and breed like rabbits! They are kept the same way as medium sized carpet pythons. Some say theyre snappy, some say theyre very docile, but as with all species it depends on the individual.

They don't have fangs but they do have long teeth, in my experience they are a very placid python but I am sure that there are exceptions. Keep them just like any carpet python. A 4x2x2 enclosure is plenty for an adult.

Whoops, sorry about that, thanks for the correction bucky. I always get it confused.

It appears that they need no specialised care to me. Normal Morelia enclosure requirement; provide heating, temp gradient and perching and they should do fine. I live in Alice Springs and have no problems with the lack of humidity either.

-Matt-, can I see some pics of yours?

No real special needs , 800x600x600 min as they are not a hug snake , I use a heat panel in the top of enclosure , a few branches for perches as they like to perch.
One of the calmest snakes I have ever owned and yes they have huge choppers.

Thanks Dickyknee, I had seen you kept them before. Just asking, do you breed them?

I only have the single male now , Not some thing I wanted to breed so move the female on a while back ... Kurto now has her.
I am just happy to keep one in a nice display cage.

Bump.
So a 4x2x2 is sufficient for an adult?

EDIT:
Before anyone asks, I just ordered Keeping and Breeding Australian Pythons.

Don't wanna be a party pooper but, are you eating and handling your rep at same time?
