South West Carpet Pythons - Are the males bigger than femals, or the other way around? Or is it much of a muchness and sex dousn't dictate its size?

Check out the paper by D.Pearson, R.Shine & R.How called
"Sex-Specific niche patitioning and sexual size dimorphism in Australian Pythons (Morelia spilota imbricata)"

Was published in 2002.

If I remember correctly is did say something about the size differences in male and females of the SWC Pythons.

there is a population of imbricata on one of the islands of ceduna SA, which apparently has very small males, when compared to the females

As with all Carpet pythons, the females will generally be bigger than males.
But the amount of food they are given and the size of their parents will both effect the adult size.
