Once the street date is broken everyone can release it , but the company that broke it will get the fine i think ?? thats what my game shop said about red dead redemption ...
 
Partner just bought it this arvo.. its going to be in my house in under an hour.. YAY!!... better go get dinner cooked. oh seriously screw being domesticated gonna play space marine while i wait!!

I'm still waiting for my pre-order + Dragon statue to arrive... That was one disappointing 11.11.11.....
 
I'm a sucker for collector's editions, the Alduin (dragon) statue is pretty neat, bigger than I thought it would be. However this one was considerably expensive, I'm pretty sure I should have got a real dragon in the box. I like getting something tangible rather than an in game bonus, especially with Bethesda releases as about 5 minutes after their release of Fallout NV all of the bonus packs were available on torrent sites lol, their games are made to be infinitely moddable.

I still have a copy of vanilla WoW collectors ed in its shrink wrap, it's crazy to see the money people are willing to fork out for a copy of it these days ... just for a vanity pet, admittedly the baby panda is cool, I will probably offload it before that game dies, although friends tell me they still enjoy it.

Skyrim is so nice to look at, It's just amazing on ultra high settings and if anyone ever needed an excuse to upgrade their video card and ram, I think this game is it.....until Diablo III ;)
 
It would look better on PC than console would you say Chris? I'm assuming they wouldn't make it for MAC computers so I will have to get it on PS3.
 
i went and watched my bro play it last night on their PC. i would imagine that our hdmi plasma tv teamed with the hdmi cable and ps3 would look even better! the aesthetics of it is really something, one day i'll get a copy, sigh....

There are reports of people running Skyrim on Mac OSX, it's very early days and it has to be run on a 3rd party port. At the moment though it will only run on the lowest setting and is quite buggy.
Maybe in a week or so someone will perfect it. There is nothing wrong with Mac's, basically the same hardware as a pc these days, just shocking compatibility.​

Haha I love consoles and I know people have their preference, but yes this game will absolutely look its best on pc. Of course it's a sliding scale, low end pc/gpu equals low quality settings, but on a nice newer system this can be set to ultra high quality graphics, far superior to xbox 360 or ps3 which are both somewhat dated now. The great thing with consoles though is their ease of use and no need to bother about buggy windows software and no need for constant upgrades, however they have stayed the same hardware wise for quite some time and pc's have advanced generations on them. I hooked my pc up to both a 52" lcd and 52" plasma with 600htz subfield driver to see what looked best in 1080p and this game looks fantastic on both screens.
 
I would have thought that the plasma with 600hz would be better! I don't know if I can wait for it to be perfected on Mac hehe I might just get it on ps3.
 
I'm here for 5 seconds, yes and no, there are things I like better about Oblivion but things I like better about Skyrim as well. The leveling system is a lot more user friendly and specialised, the casting system is annoying as you can't heal while holding a weapon or sheild. The gameplay is awesome, the NPC's are not as moronic as they were in Oblivion. The caves, dungeons, forts etc are way longer and more detailed, even the camps have detail. The journal interface and inventory are a little annoying and it has tiny white text which is fine if you have a huge screen, not so good if you don't. That part of it doesn't have the atmosphere Oblivion had. The choice of weapons so far seems pretty limited which is disappointing but I haven't got that far yet so we'll see. Graphic detail is great close up but the sweeping views Oblivion had are just not really there in Skyrim and I think the dragons are too easy to kill. Back to play now, more later.
 
Skyrim worth the purchase?

I'm a big fan of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series BUT... I'm a bigger fan of COD, so MW3 got 1st rights of purchase.
I still don't have BF3 or GOW3 either... What's wrong with me?
