when should your salary be paid

say one are on forthnightly payments, week starts on monday and ends on sunday. When should the employer pay the wages? I am currently working for some americans, and even though the week ended sunday, pay will not be done until thursday, for me it`s fine as I am with the same bank. But some of my kids have to wait until friday

Because you work for the US of A the delay might come from time differences if the money is released from overseas

sounds within the limits and as always your with the same bank you get it roughly a day sooner than some with a different bank, it's just how it works unfortunately

pay week ends on tuesday, get overtime payments from pay period on wednesday in a fortnights time

It depends on who I'm working for. Some agencies say "get the invoice in by 12pm monday and you'll be paid by wednesday", others say they pay fortnightly, but if I work between the 1st and 15th, I get paid on the 19th, and if I work between the 16th and 31st, I get paid on the 2nd of the following month. Can leave a long time between pays if I work on the 1st or the 16th. I had another agency fail to pay me for about a month. They kept saying they hadn't recieved the invoice, when I sent it to the email they requested it be sent to, and found it as soon as I actually convinced them to check that email address. Then said I had to wait for the next pay period, and mucked that one up as well. It was a while, but it got there in the end. It's hard to find a leg to stand on sometimes, but so long as you get paid regularly, and when you expect to be, then I think it's pretty good!

It should say in your contract with your employer. If there is an issue with pay not arriving quick enough for some then I would suggest they change banks. However, it won't make any real difference, there are still seven days in a week.

It depends on when they do the payroll. Have you spoken to your employer about it?
