I checked my Jap- Quail tonight and a wild carpet has forced the 12mm vertical wires apart in the door and taken a
5 week old Quail -
This wild carpet is only about 90cm long and took a large Jap Quail that I breed.

The cheeky bugger, he even found the warm light to curl up on:)

wow - that must have been a hungry snake. Wont need to eat for a while!

Im sure you have a few more quail where that one came from.....

Had a similar thing happen about 18 months ago, 7ft Diamond got into an aviary and ate one of my Jade mutation Rainbow Lorikeets, i was in awe of the snake to the point where i now have 2 Diamond yearlings and a Bredli :D.

Hehe, sorry about your quail but that's awesome :D

I wish we had wild carpets in my area.

Another wild carpet that visited our avairy about 2 yrs ago

I live next to a state forest and over the last 15 yrs I have seen a few; the largest was over 3.2mtrs long and tried to take my rats .
I have relocated a few over the years.

That is one beautiful Coastal mate!
Shame about your quail though, but still very impressive!
