Sorry if this has been posted before. I tried to do a search to see if anyone has posted pictures of what mites look like on snakes. If this has been posted can someone point me out in the right direction. If not can they lease put up pictures so that people that don't have an idea no what to look for.
 
Look around the eyes and heat pits, around the eyes is probably the most obvious,the movement of the mites is the main give away
 
They look like tiny black round bugs. like has been said, if you take your snake into some good light and look around the eyes, heats pits etc this is where you will usually see them, also you might see raised scales along the body from the little bastards feeding underneath the scales.
Usually snakes sit in there water bowl when they have mites, and you can see the mites that have drowned at the bottom of the water bowl. If you squash them you'll see the blood they have been on.

Hope you don't have the little buggers!
