I think that may be a Murray Darling.colours are about right

With the inherent variability in M.s.mcdowelli, nothing there to indicate it would be anything else. That said, given your location, you may have to wait until it hits adulthood to know with any certainty. If it hit 3m plus, you have a coastal! :D

in the wild coastals have a HUGE habitat range and as a result can vary a large amount in color... and to be perfectly honest i don't see any reason for some one to lie about the snake being a coastal as they are probably the cheapest carpet python that you could buy.

To sell them quickly like every other "backyard breeder" that doesn't care? :p It doesn't really look coastal-ish to me, but that doesn't mean it isn't. Waiting until it's bigger is your best bet haha

Looks very much like a Darwin.

Edit: I just noticed you're in the UK, so it could be anything.

It looks like a jungle to me, but you are only really guessing or saying what it looks like at this stage. As the others have said you're going to have to wait till it gets a bit older before you could have any certainty.

It's a, it's a ? I know it's a Carpet snake ;). But it looks like a darwin, nope nope it looks like a jungle but then again it looks like a coastal from from my backyard 8). And this just goes to prove that the whole morelia spilota debate is pointless. No one here can agree on what it is and why because location and environment are the only true indicators of what so called sub species it is. It's a snake, luv it treat it well and both you and it will be happy

hi thanks for all your help , as you all say it does not really matter to me and my hubby what she is , she is a loved addition to our family ,the only reason why i was asking was my friend who i got her form was not 100% sure of what she was as she saved a batch of eggs from a guy who came into her pet store who had no clue what he was doing , so she took them and hatched them , the guy said they were from 2 diffident snakes a one was a coastal but he placed all the eggs in one tub, so i guess we will just have to wait and see , she has taken to living in the tree , that is very hard to get her out of , so thanks for all your help and suggestions

Looks like a jungle, but with that history just call it a carpet.

It looks like a jungle to me, maybe even cross MD, but hey I'm no expert, either way nice little snake
