Right, I keep snakes and snakes fit perfectly well into my life. The reason being is that they don't need a high level of commitment. My bredli gets feed once a week and my coastal cross once a fortnight.
This makes things very easy for me when I decide to take a trip somewhere. I usually can find someone to change their water for me and check nothing has gone wrong with the heating. Two weeks away is easy and at a push, although not ideal, a month can also be done.
Obviously I don't go away for a month very often, two weeks being the norm. The thing is, I would really like a trio of ackies (Varanus acanthurus) but they need fed every day to every other day, and I'm pretty sure I would struggle to find someone willing to come round and feed them bugs as often as that.
I'm thinking though, surely other people keep lizards and still take trips away. If so, what do you do with your captives??
