Picked up a corner unit for $30, having a go at converting it in to a 2 level enclosure for my Deedee to come indoors on those stinking hot days.

Yep sorry about that, I got it from a lifeline shop near us and have been looking around for a corner type unit for a while, just happened to stumble upon this as it was being unloaded off the truck. It is going to be two storey with basking on the top floor and unlit and unheated on the lower level. Just for the really hot summer days above say 35degc. She will be staying in her out door enclosure for the rest of the time.

I'm really jealous mate, I would love to do something like this for a python but as I am living at home again for uni and my mum is petrified of snakes... Not much point me making an enclosure for something ill never be allowed to keep :(

This is exactly what i want to do :) Just got my first snake almost 2 weeks ago, didnt have an enclosure but had a display cabinet full of wine glasses and stuff (i dont even drink!) So, selling the glasses, pulled the glass shelving out, put the light fixture in with a cage over the top, vents in the back and broom handles as perches, hides in the bottom and have an awesome enclosure.. And it already had glass sliding doors so didnt need to buy the glass :D

Finally got it to "lock up" stage, I will have heating and ventilation all sorted by the end of the weekend plus substrate and furniture.

Looks good mate.
You have good access with the two doors.
How do you plan on heating it over the two levels?

I guess it doesn't get tooo cold in coffs but have you thought about heating the bottom half to lift the ambient temp of the top half? Otherwise it's just wasted energy. Not saying you should just floating an idea.

Looks great though!
