What species of carpet python is this?

Going by the paper towel its a coastal hatchling from last season, It will lighten up as it gets older.
 
Hi Caleb, looks very much like an intergrade/coastal from the northern end of the intergrade range, so it has a much stronger coastal appearance. I would say that it will lighten up a bit as it ages, with the spot on each scale lightening a bit. We get a few like that down here. We have a very similar one which hangs around the Eclectus aviary in the warmer months - I might have a photo of it somewhere - if I can find it I'll post it on this thread. The damned birds wake me up at all hours when it's around - Eckies HATE snakes and they have a particular call that they only use when there's a snake or a Lacie around :).

As Jamie stated its a intergrade from the northern end of their range.
 
My south westy looks exactly like that when he is coming up for a shed....
