Hey guys, I got my first python today and I am very happy! I got a beautiful Bredli who is extremely placid.

I got him from Gavin at Scales & Tails, he is an excellent breeder who knows his stuff! He even gave me a $100 discount on the Bredli so it equaled all up (including enclosure) to $580, and also threw in free food, drift wood and other bits and pieces as well. :)

Here are som pics of Flynn:

Congrats. Looks a beauty too.

Exciting times ahead ! :)

Good on you.
Nice name too.
He's looking pretty relaxed.

Congrats mate!

Btw, your previous attachment didn't work but if its your hatchy hiding away then it's normal while it gets used to its new surroundings.

Oh, the pic was similar to the second comment I made with another pic, it's all right now, I have switched off the UV light and he is exploring.

Make sure you do alot of research! Ive been keeping pythons for a couple of months now and still find there is alot about behavior and routine that i do not know yet haha, just helps you avoid stress more then anything.
Beautiful snake and a great choice, Also lovely to see a discount from a well known breeder. Really helping the community out

Weren't you mad keen on getting a RSP? In any case Gavin has some nice animals.

DSCF0037[1].jpgThanks guys, he is not snappy at all, and he is all curled up on his branch...So cute :D

Its a really good sign to have him out in the day time on a perch or branch, well done

Awesome! I have the probe in the warm end, and it's saying 30-32c, is that about right? The branch he is on in the warm end.

Yeah, I was hell keen, but I learnt my lesson of not doing enough research, when I later found out you need a specialist license to keep one, but love my Bredli! Maybe from here I can work towards getting a specialist license to get a RSP :)

Good for you Sabahon Bredlis are great enjoy your new pet

I noticed in the pics (you posted in another thread) that you don't have light cages. Might want to look into getting some, as you don't want Flynn coming into contact with the lights.

Well, he inspected the basking light once, didn't touch it, but when he got close he immediately went back, he won't even go near the lights, but when I turn off the UV light he will curl up around it, so in the morning when I turn it on I just take him off, put on the light, and he won't go back on...

But other than that, I do kind of want to get cages, just be extra safe, and I have my 25w heat globe running without a thermo, and he said it should be fine, still want to get a thermo though :D
