Herping in vic?

Hi I live in the west of vic and was wondering if there are places near by that are good for herps?

I can only ever seem to find frogs and tiny skinks that are way to fast to take photos of.

down at korroroit creek trail theres some blue toungues i saw and a brown snake

I used to go through Brimbank Park on the weekends as a kid. Every time as soon as I stepped off the trails, I'd be running into tigers, browns, all kinds of frogs, skinks, a few bluey's even.
This time of the year was always one of the best times for it.
