I just did a quick search but maybe a Golden Tree Snake? I know you guys want facts on how to identify it to that but anyways.. I figured he wasn't in danger..
 
I think you might be onto something I was going with Dendrelaphis sp but after googling golden tree snake I think it may at least be a Chrysopelea sp of some description

My pleasure mate. This species is capable of 'flight' or at least gliding. They are amazing snakes! 8)
The colours and patterns are distinctive enough that you can confidently ID it based on colour, pattern and location.
It's a lovely specimen, as only some have the red dorsal colouration.

My understanding is that many of the south East Asian colubrids are being looked into including Chyrsopelea.
 
That's awesome I have seen a wild one when I went to Thailand and Malaysia. Great find.
