To the WA herp keepers,

Having moved to Perth 10 months ago, we have finally got our permits sorted. Sooo.... Does anyone know where to find the WA herp classified ads?

Also is it easier/cheaper to deal interstate when buying or selling herps to avoid the facist dealer/middleman regulation?

There aren't herp classifieds as such. You can look on gumtree and that's about it. either that you find the dealers with stock and ask around. Join the WA reptile forum there are some snakes for sale on there too.

As for import you face import permits etc to do that then you pay a royalty on whichever animal you are bringing in. you can't import pythons though.

Besides gumtree there is The HerpTrader. There are quite a few from WA that purchase reptiles from our site. ;)

Thanks for the replies. Not after anything in particular, but always keen to get new herps. Interested mostly in varanids and elapids.

I'll have a look at the WA site.

Easy enough to import Elapids into WA if they are on our keepers list. Enjoy the $300 a year license for cat 5 :)
