my mates pair is 2 years 4months old now.
they weight 1.9kg both the male and female and both are slightly over 5ft.

would they make it for this season or should i tell him to skip and grow them for another year?

keeping and breeding Australian pythons says succsessfull breedings from 2.5 year old animals at 2.1kg. for the bhp.s
out of interest where did you hear 4 and 4kg. not having a go i just have never heard of this before...

I have heard the 4 and 4 rule from a few big BHP breeders.

Sure you can breed animals earlier. But the breeders animals i've seen have been big healthy animals that produce big healthy clutches. For the record i dont breed BHP, woma's are more my thing. i dont breed females until at least 3.5 - 4 years but thats just me.
