Just curious because my jungle has a couple of single subcaudal scales and isnt there something to do with if it single its an live bearing snake or divided with egg laying

some of the scales on the bottom of my snakes tail(subcaudals) past the anal scale are single(they should be divided)
does this mean that he/she is different
and is there something to do with 'if it's divided subcaudal scales it's a egg layer or if it's single subcaudal scales it's a live bearer'

I've only heard and seen pics of a Coastal that has some single subcaudals
But other than that I find it very interesting
 
All python species lays eggs.

Boas have live young.

Elapids can have either live young or lay eggs. The difference between egglaying and live-bearing elapids is that all egglayers have divided subcaudal scales, and all live-bearers have single subcaudal scales (RBB's are an exception to the rule).
