Laid on the 7th February. I set incubator at 29 degrees.. a week ago I decided to test temp and it was 26 degrees (I dont know why I never checked in the beginning. I'm silly.) It has since been adjusted to 29/30 degrees - there is a 3 degrees disrecpancy between what the incubator shows and the actual temp inside. Rough hatch date? Will it cause complications or just delay them significantly?

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers,

Madison

They should still be fine, ill take a stab at around 80 days.

Usually around 2 months for me but have had them hatch earlier and much later, depends on temps.

yeah i had forecast for 60 days but since realising my temps were low I don't know how far that will push them out. do the eggs change just prior to hatching? sink in? is there any way I can tell when they are close. I have obviously never bred anything before.

I've never incubated at such low temperatures but my data suggests 90 days at 26 degrees. If you've increased it to 29/30, then I would say between 75-85 days. Good luck

I sometimes lower temps a bit to prolong hatching (so hatching coincides with me being home from field work). I've never had problems incubating eggs at around 27, it just takes a fair bit longer (I don't have any state of the art equipment so my temps probably fluctuate a little bit as well). I prefer to incubate on the cooler side anyway as it's my personal opinion that less can go wrong when development is at a slightly slower pace.
