Care Fresh Bedding is My Choice

Disclaimer: I'm not a typical American reptile enthusiast. My interest is locale-specific specimens, not morphs, and I favor naturalistic terrarium setups (like most Europeans) rather than simple tub or rack enclosures.

I have kept snakes for years, and have experimented with Aspen, natural grass or straw and river sand. Each bedding type has its advantages & trade-offs.

Sand is the cheapest, and looks very natural, but does not allow for burrowing.
Aspen is the least dusty, but looks less natural to me.

Care Fresh is my preference. It is dusty when applied or removed, but that settles quickly. It allows for a firm base, yet can be burrowed into for tunnels. I buy mine at a local WinCo store for $5.29 per quart.

I will use Care Fresh until I can no longer afford to use it. To me, it looks the most natural and is relatively cost-effective.
