Hey andynic07 just a curious question about ur enclosure. Do you use the bottom middle section as storage or can ur diamond x coastal access that area too?
I was originally going to use the bottom middle section as a dark area that my snake could go and hide but decided on using it as storage. This may even change back to my original idea yet depending on well I can design a matching hide in the end two sections. Also another note if anyone is thinking about doing this the backing on these cabinets is usually flimsy and attached with small staples so I used a piece of 6mm ply nailed on to strengthen it all up. This is the second one that I have done and both needed the ply.

Jungle in the left and Olive in the right. Olive needs to move out to make room though

Posted this before, I have 2 4ft vertical enclosures joined/common wall, this is one half. Each house a jungle python

That looks great.
I'm just building a large double had dent even thaught about going for a vertical split, what the floor space in there? And how's your temp gradient? If yu don't mind me asking.

I don't have any like this anymore, all just plain melamine boxes - simple is good for me, but this was my jungles old tank.

Each enclosure has a floor space of 2ft x 2ft, the basking shelves are 40cm x 40cm from memory, which adds more 'floor' space. Temp gradients are great, we can run the basking spot as hot as you want and the enclosure floor stays at ambient room temps. Directly under the CHE on the basking shelf is 33-34ish (pulse thermo), the rest of the shelf and much of the upper 1/3 of the enclosure sits around 30-31, inside the pullout hide 28-29 and as I said before the bottom 1/3 stays at room temp

Here's a shot of the other side to better illustrate the slide out hides

Wired up and decorated

I got 1 piece of 16mm melamine, some aluminium u channel, some plastic vents and a cabinet lock from our local hardware, got the light and prewired fitting from Brian at the herp shop, the thermostat online, popped some.glass out of an old window and cut it to size and the light cage and thermometer was supplied by the breeder at island pythons. All in all cost somewhere between 90 and 100

Not the prettiest one around but its my first build and my coastal, Loki, who thinks he's a tree snake, seems to like it :)

Good on you for taking the time to do it yourself, ain't nothing better. You know of course there will be more snakes and more builds. Excellent.

Thanks mate :) there's not much that's more satisfying than building something from the ground up hey? lol I'm lining up a cabinet conversion for a bredli I'm looking at next....... And a maybe a pygmy for my girls after that..... Now my other half has been (semi) converted, yes more builds and more snakes in the future :)

This is my latest enclosure design.

I've routered heat cord into that shelf, so the python can choose if it wants radiating heat or belly heat.

Couple for Scrubbies. Big fella was a rehab and the little one, all shiny and new, captive bred.

This is my enclosure that I built from a TV cabinet for my diamond x coastal and it is not finished yet. One end has a daytime heat lamp on thermostat and timer and the other end has a nighttime heat lamp on thermostat on timer. I still need to put some fake plants in there for decoration.

This is exactly what I am planning for my Bredli. Have to find the right unit as i'm restricted with space because of where i'm going to put it, I can go maximum 1700 long, but this one looks spot on. How long is it if I may ask & also what did you use for runners for the sliding doors? andynic07
