Well I use to live in Townsville, there are a few places actually. There is the Museum and the Reef HQ that's just down the road, there's the strand, it's always cold around this time of the year though. There's the Mall which is also located near the Casino, if you are not aware, the Casino has a pool located at the back of the building, there is also a fishing hot spot right beside the Casino, you can also watch all the faeries going over to Magnetic Island and coming back. You can also go for a day trip over to magnetic Island, but you'll have to travel via buss once you are off the Faerie it's pretty boring there. There is also Castle Hill, if you go there at night you get this great view of all the city lights. Are you going to be driving there or getting a plane?

You could go visit billabong sanctuary just south of Townsville. Haven't been there since i was little so i don't really remember how good it actually was though :p.

the strand is lovely to walk along and have a bbq Water park there to. Three large shopping centers Willows, Stocklands
Castle town could waste the whole day looking around them if shopping your thing. Markets on a Sun morning on the main street in the city and lots of great coffee shops Also markets at Willows shopping center car park then Riverways water park across the road for a lovely morning with the kids. Bilabong santury is still a great place and musem and Reef HQ. Day at Maggie Island is worth while Pm me if you like if you need some more advice we live in TSV
