Gday guys

Just a quick question out of curiosity. Because Albino pythons do not have melanin, does this mean they can get sun burnt more easily? If so, would they be able to be kept under uv lights?

Cheers for any answers

I assume it wouldn't be good for them. I use a heat radiator panel and l.e.d strip for lighting. I'm no expert but it makes sense to me.

I own a albino darwin hatchie, I read up that any exposture to the sun for longer then 20 minutes can give them sun burn, I only ever take my snake out in the sun for about 2-5 minutes, but when it's over cast I don't take him out. Albinos don't need UV I have also read up that it could halm them, im not sure how, but im definetly not about to try it.

Too much exposure can lead to blindness as it damages their eyes, I'm pretty sure that I also read that it can cause certain cancers as there is no melanin to protect the skin....
