Long term keeper breeder python specialist. Have worked in reptile shops in past duties included training new staff makeing reptile cages ,setting up cages for customers custermiseing cages also have worked in the rodent breeding industry and have been trained in rodent husbandry also have bred Australian python consecutively for 20 years also have maintained a very large collection of pet and breeding pythons and maintained a rodent collection large enough to feed that collection for 20 years as well and done this all by myself without any staff. Pythons are my passion and now that the industry has changed with pet shops being able to have and sell them I want to be part of it . I love dealing with people and with my keeping and breeding history I could really help grow a new reptile shop into the go to shop in Sydney just waiting for that call I'm eager and want to be apart of this new stage of n.s.w reptile journey regards Shane

Mate, you sound right for the job! I reckon you should draft a resume stating what you've stated above, along with a cover letter and send them off to pet stores in your area. You should ask a friend to read over your resume and cover letter, and edit for grammatical/ spelling errors. While spelling/ grammar has no relevance to your knowledge and experience, it will ensure a level of professionalism that puts you ahead of the rest. I believe you can also utilise services such as centrelink to assist you with structuring resumes and cover letters.
Good luck buddy - if there's going to be reptiles in the retail pet trade, it needs passionate people like you to make it work!

With a resume like that you'd be much better off continuing to be a private breeder.

I actually manage a petstore and I am so excited for the inclusion of reptiles in our store! It's a wonderful prospect for us and a brilliant opportunity to get people started off with the right knowledge. It might cut down on the 'My python hasn't pooped' and 'My python won't eat' threads...

Best of luck with your endeavours! It sounds like you're far too experienced for minor petstore work. Perhaps consider doing your captive animals course and heading out to a reptile park! Somewhere where your talents will be properly utilised.
