Hi guys, been away from the forums a bit since I got a lizard in the end.
This is a question for my friend. He wants to get a snake and wants to know if he needs both a heat light and heat mat. I havn't ever owned a snake so I cant help him. The snake he wants to get is a costal carpet python.
Thanks

There are a lot more options than that such as heat cord, Ceramic heat emitters and heat panels to name but a few. Heating should be selected to suit the species, enclosure size and room temperature.
So you have a coastal. Can you give more information on the size of enclosure. Is it horizontal or vertical?
Does it have shelves?
What is the temperature of the room at night in winter?
Do you intend on using a thermostat?
What is the enclosure made from?

I would have to find all that stuff out as this is for me friend. I would post up the info tomorrow. Thanks for the help though
