Hi all!

I'm in Israel at the moment on archaeological excavation and was lucky enough to come across this little guy.

Found him wedged in amongst the sandbags, i usually would have let him be but i was concerned he would get killed underfoot by on of my fellow dig participants.

I have to say, it was really exciting! To me this looks like chamaeleo chamaeleon recticrista, but i would love to know others' thoughts.

Apologies for the brief video, my supervisor had some trouble with my camera

Hahaha, probably, i only know the song because everyone on the dig started singing it after we found him :p

Go ahead, i guess it's hard to hear properly when you have ears full of dirt, how embarrassing!

Either way, doesn't detract from the coolnes of my little friend.

Chameleons, masters of camouflage. Great find, didn't know they lived in Israel
