As the title says, what's your favourite time of the year to go herping? What month coming into Spring/Summer is seen as the start of herping? Is September still too early?

As soon as the night temps begin to warm :) and is Sept to early? depends on the weather I think and where the reptiles you are seeking live, at Jupiters casino on the gold coast the big lizards are around all year, they get in the heated pools early in the mornings, to get them going I guess, till the sun is up far enough to go bask in, clever dudes :)

I would of thought october/november as that is when the cooler climates start to warm up again.

I probably prefer mid summer too for night herping as it is a great time for other hobbies (fishing/looking for aquatic species). Day herping I'd say I prefer the cooler months on either side of summer so October/March.

I've never been herping in September thats why I asked but will this September so I'll see how I go.

Best time down here last year was September, but it was a warm spring. Most call outs for snakes is generally October -November. By mid summer don't see too much around.

Late summer in my herp area of cunnumulla as its not overly hot and I can catch the inland tais and browns easier
