I was just wondering if anyone actually kept any sort of Kingfishers? They're by far some of my favourite birds, Kookaburra being the top followed by the Azure Kingfisher.

I'm curious though because since Kookaburras are carnivorous wouldn't they be a bit complicated to look after?

Thanks

Very easy to look after, just feed them rodents and day old chicks. Kingfishers would be a bit harder with diet, haven't worked with them yet.
In America Kookaburras are rising in popularity in the bird hobby, particularly hand-raised ones.

One my friends rescues kookaburras, they are awesome, awesome, awesome birds!

I might be able to get some information on caring for them off of her next time I see her for you?

Unfortunately, they are not legal to be kept in QLD.

Really? That's a shame
