I know its possible as our stimson's is a little tubby , but is it too early for a pre lay shed and /or do they only shed the once when fertilized ??

Yes its our first time !!!

thanks

snakes will shed after they ovulate. If they ovulate it means that they're follicles will move into a different cavity in the body and well get shelled weather they are fertilized or not. So yes if she ovulates she will lay eggs they is no way of knowing if they will be fertile if not. (pre-lay shed is after ovulation)
