that looks pretty cool,sorry though i dont know wether its unusual or not, but i know they seem to get lighter colouring at night
 
Was the photo taken at night-time?
If so, my guess is that it's nocturnal tone change, which is not unusual in geckos.
 
Nocturnal tone, this is at 1:30am, bit of variance for you.

To tell the truth I cannot remember the actual time the pic was taken :(

I am endeavoring to take more pics atm....12.35 pm Qld.time

I have quite a few of these little pinkies all different ages.

With my thickie when he was in he's old tank he was quite dark and as soon as I put him in a contempory tank he started to get lighter if that helps at all
 
My geckoes in question are pinkish most of the time and do not appear to change to darker shades.....I find it interesting :)
